My approach

I believe in you and in individualised continuity of care. You are worthy of being celebrated and my work is always guided by my values. I don’t support birth and postpartum just because I adore babies, but because I am mad about caring for mothers and families (though no denying it, the babies are adorable!)

As your companion, I don’t empower you, because you’re powerful already! I hold you, provide you with confidence, skills and information so that you own doing birth your way. We talk a lot about advocacy, rights, decision making, your needs and the resilience you have during pregnancy so that you can meet birth in an embodied way. This time is YOURS.

We will deep dive into the physiology of birth and postpartum, how we can prepare mentally, physically and emotionally and what you need to feel safe, heard and loved at every stage, which is completely unique to you!
We’ll look at birth and postpartum as a journey that can take many pathways, and plan for them. We’ll deep dive into what’s important for you and why, and focus on how you need to feel during this experience.

I’m always learning and deeply curious about holistic care for mothers, and connecting you with the resources you need. I love working with skilled individuals in the space who bring their own much needed expertise and care. We’ll build up a network of loved ones, health professionals, bodyworkers and supporters that feels aligned for you because you deserve your chosen village.

I’m a matrescence advocate and am passionate about providing neuroaffirming and trauma-sensitive care and I never make assumptions about the stories and experiences you hold.

My values

Power

Let’s be clear: I’m don’t need to empower you, because you are already powerful. Power is capability. It’s the ability to decide and choose. It’s adopting a strengths-based approach to ourselves and marvelling in our own abilities, because you’re absolutely incredible.

Connection

Meaningful support is grounded in connection. It’s being embraced and celebrated wholeheartedly as your authentic self. It’s feeling seen, understood and safe. It’s not about one moment in time, it’s seeing you whole with your lived experiences, values and needs.

Respect

Let’s embrace and celebrate your individuality and needs. Let’s be being highly attuned and sensitive to what makes you feel safe and embodied. All feelings, thoughts, questions or needs are welcome. Having an extra person in your space through birth or postpartum is a big thing, and respecting how you and your family need that to look and feel is top of mind for me, always.

Knowledge

Knowledge isn’t just having information. It’s how you integrate it with your lived experience and values to inform your decision making processes. Birth, motherhood and neuroaffirming care are my special interests and I will share all I know with you. From knowledge, stems understanding.

Compassion

Support must meet you exactly where you are at. All your feelings, thoughts and needs are valid and I’m here to listen, hold space and be with you as you move through it. When we base our support on connection, compassion follows. You matter and are so worthy of support.
